per the Daily:

In August, Maturi began his new position on the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions, an independent body that decides whether Division I athletics programs have broken NCAA rules. He was one of eight new members added to the formerly 10-person committee.

“I’ve always been a pay-it-forward kind of an individual,” Maturi said. “If I can help make college athletics better, I decided to go ahead.”

Go Gophers!!

An inept guy helping run an inept organization. This is a match made in heaven.

Do you think he will help sellout for corporate advertising for penalties? "Highly touted Kentucky point guard's suspension brought to you by TCF Bank."

The absolute low point of the corporate begging by Maturi was the segment at every game about taking out your TCF Bank card with Goldie. Thank goodness that act is over with. It was disgraceful.

So much for the infractions committee getting either tougher or more competent. Can hardly wait to see what kind of "punishments" are meted out with ole Joel helping the cause.

Maturi was a fine soldier, thrust into an impossible situation. I'll wish him the best always. I'm hoping the powers to be don't offer up Norwood's head anytime in the near future. There are some very talented and dedicated people working hard on our behalf. There always has been and there always will be.

Joel has always been known for swift, decisive action. He'll fit in well at the NCAA.
