per the Daily:

With all of these possible ball carriers, Leidner shouldn’t have to carry it 102 times like he did last year. His coaches don’t want him running that much anyway.

“An important factor as we move forward is making sure that we’re not intentionally putting him out there more than we need to, more than what fits into what our bigger game plan is,” Limegrover said.

Last year, Leidner was splitting time with former Gophers quarterback Philip Nelson. This season, Leidner is the undisputed starting quarterback, and with that comes an added emphasis on keeping him healthy.

“It’s different. It’s a different style of play for me, but it’s something I’ve done in the past in high school,” Leidner said of his new role.

Go Gophers!!

"...run Leidner, run..." Sometimes a coach doesn't say what a coach is really saying. And, this staff likes multiple quarterbacks. If one is good: two is better!

more mitcheroo runs = more fumbles. nope- he has to stick in there and chuck the pigskin.

I think the more he stays in the pocket the chances go up that he will get hit and fumble. get him moving and things will be better. he throws better on the run than just straight back in the pocket too.

I am sure that the coaching staff is waiting on some of this but really I would not be surprised that there will be more of the play book opened this game.

I hope that Limegrover saw that the QB option wide was open many times and he is either setting it up for later or thought Mitch didnt need to do that to get the win last week. Streveler came in and ran it with success but going forward that is for Chris to get some experience that Mitch already has and we did not need to use that option Thursday night. * again i hope Limegrover saw that

By all means Streveler should play a bunch in a game against Middle Tennessee.

So when does the "passing" start to happen? I saw more of the same on Thursday.

The offensive coordinator will do what his long-time head coach wants him to do. What will be seen will be much more of the same.

My wren, what you say is true, without your usual lengthy diatribes. Thank you.

GO GOPHERS!!! BEAT THE STINKING BADGERS!!! WHO HATES IOWA???

Lengthy diatribes are much more fun and hammer home the point better than the wimpy short, little ugly blurbs. People remember lengthy diatribes. Let twitter die a thousand short, little deaths. Long live lengthy diatribes!

Air Kill is d.o.a. 15 to 18 pass attempts in a game with 3 to 4 attempts to Max at the max will be likely on Saturday.

“Personally, I am always more impressed by simplicity, clarity; it is the mark of a writer who knows his subject well and is secure enough not to 'lay it on' in the telling. Aim for complexity of thought, not expression.”

brevity is the soul of wit. kidding aside, Walrus is correct that a JK offense is run run run run. If you expect/hope for something different you will be disappointed.

And then you wonder why people do what they do to you. As dpodoll has often said, your are a hypocrite and a liar. You really have no respect for others on this board. So stop trying to play the 'woe is me card.'
