MN Dailiy: Tom Moe, Glen Mason envisioned campus football

Love this quote - may be appropriate considering this Saturday's forecast.

“If it rains, I want it to rain on them,” he said. “If it snows, I want it to snow on them. If it’s cold, I want them to be cold.”

I never envisioned off-campus football, but Sid and company did.

I give Moe a ton of credit. He walked into an absolute mess. I've always had a lot of respect of Mark Dienhart, but in retrospect, it doesn't appear he had a whole lot of clout and things got out of hand.

Can some credit be given to Mark Yudof? Maybe not directly to the stadium itself, but for turning around the direction the U faced at the time so that on-campus football would be palatable when the time came. When he got here, it was a suburban commuter school. A lot of the things he did (Beautiful U Day, painting the Washington Avenue Bridge, etc.) made living on campus and near campus a lot more attractive.
