Mitch McGary > Cody Zeller

Except for the free throw shooting at this point I would agree with you. Zeller was exposed as someone who does not like contact and cannot finish with a hit.

Zeller is just soft right now. Not good for the rest of the Big Ten but I think he needs to stay another year.

When the zebras aren't blowing the whistle every time you look at him, Zeller is exposed. I predict he has a poor rookie season in the NBA

They both lack offensive moves. McGary is a bruiser, but pretty athletic and gets himself in the right spots. Zeller's best asset is that he's extremely athletic compared to other bigs and can get down the floor on run-outs. He really has zero offensive moves - quite amazing. Obviously both would nice in maroon and gold though.

I would take Zeller (right now) pretty easily, but McGary is also very excellent. He's so active and strong.

Crazy or obvious?

I've actually thought that for much of the season. Not sure why McGarry wasn't getting more minutes earlier in the year. The guy was extremely productive whenever he was in the game. I was talking to a big Michigan fan the other day about this - the sister of a former Wolverine - and she agreed that he was good, but thought he got in foul trouble a lot. Perhaps that was the reason, or perhaps Beilein was just pulling a Tubby and playing the upperclassman just because he was older than the freshman.

I thought McGary was a big slow oaf when I saw him at the beginning of the season, but he's really improved. Much more so than any player under the tutelage of Orlando Smith.
