Mitch Leidner: "I've got a chip on my shoulder, & I'm going to work as hard as I can"

per the Chicago Tribune:

"Mitch is a hard-nosed, tough kid and a tough competitor, but sometimes that can get the best of you. Adam Weber is like this," Kill said, holding his hand steady. "You have a turnover or something goes wrong, that's what we have to teach Mitch, to stay level."

Leidner does not lack for motivation.

"He's tired of hearing he can't throw the ball," Kill said. "You get tired of that. It motivates you sometimes."

Leidner doesn't need to hear criticism on social media to motivate him, though.

"Ever since I've been (with) the Gophers, we've been the underdogs," he said. "That's how I'm going to continue to look at things. And that's probably how I'll continue to look at things my entire life, just being an underdog.

"I was under-recruited. That's the way I go into every single practice and every single game. I've got a chip on my shoulder, and I'm going to work as hard as I can."

Go Gophers!!

He should take the chip off his shoulder. That could explain why he launches the ball five yards over the heads of wide open receivers.

This was a lame joke that no one should laugh to. But dangit, I did. Ha ha. Doh.

Yeah, he's got Chip Lohmiller. Oh wait. No, it is Adam Weber.
