What is with Sampson? He has shown a little more aggressiveness on offense. But he is a kitten when it comes to post position. Mirkovic totally bullied hime every possession. Iverson wasn't any better. Iverson always reacts to physical play, its slow, and its a foul.

I think Sampson's a soph trying to avoid fouls so he can stay in the game. At times, he's way too careful.

Why insnt the coach getting him to be more aggressive?

What do you think of the coaching 4 life?

OT: I really don't like that Mirkovic kid. Hate his style. Seems like a crybaby. That is all.

I also thought the help defense was pathetic. When the perimeter defender got burned, the help defense was consistently late in rotating over and stopping the man driving to the hoop.

Mirkovic abused Sampson.... sad showing by our center... I will throw up the next time someone mentions his basketball IQ. He cant pass out of a double team, he turns into the double team all the time, his moves on the block are indecisive, he brings the ball down to his waist so it can get ripped... he was no help to stop penetration instead he watches guards drive to the hoop, he fades away on every shot...

Ralph III is the new Dan Coleman... Coleman use to drive me nuts and never figured it out...

Except Coleman barely had a fraction of the talent that Ralph has. Ralph did get roughed up on the block a bit, but on several occasions (one I recall in particular) he muscled him back, and got whistled by Hightower immediately. I also wouldn't call him a kitten on the block when he averages as many blocks as he does.

As with most games this year, there were flashes of his burgeoning talent. A sweet skyhook, and a nifty spin he got nailed for travelling on. That spin will need to be reserved for the NBA...

I disagree with this, Coleman had talent, but was such a pansy (for lack of a better word). RSIII has some talent too, but also struggles with toughness at times, IMO. Sampson still has another couple of years to prove himself, and while I have no problem giving him a little more time, if we are still seeing the same thing a year from now, than I think you can stick a fork in the chance that he develops into a all B10 type post player.
