P.J. Fleck had his embroidered signature on the wrist of his dress shirt under a tan suit Wednesday at Big Ten Conference football media days.

The Minnesota football coach has always been comfortable in his own skin and is just fine if his style doesn’t jive with everyone. He’s helped the Gophers reach level of sustained success — four eight-win seasons including three of the past four and six bowl wins in his tenure — it hasn’t had in the past. That success includes notching wins against his program’s archrival, the University of Wisconsin.

“That’s a rivalry because it’s supposed to go back and forth, right?” Fleck said. “There's not a better rivalry, from the record speaking, than Minnesota and Wisconsin. And I'm honored to play in it. You learn as a head coach very quickly, you are a speck and a tiny little piece in this tradition that dates back 100-plus years, and you just get to be part of it, and I'm honored every day to be a part of it.”

Go Gophers!!
