Minnesota says NO...

I love Arkansas, bet em almost every week and they came through for me very nicely this year. And they finally have established a run game.

Probably not going to find many people who watch the Big 10 on a regular basis feel like Arkansas deserves it more with two losses than Wisconsin (which has been blasting everyone in site lately) does with one loss.

And, I freely admit to hating the SEC with the one slight exception being Arkansas because they don't seem so SEC-ish and mostly because of YOU, Delta.

My household is all for Arkansas. My wife if from there and we go visit every year. It was a great day on Saturday with both of our teams winning.

My question is: If Oregon or Auburn get upset, does Stanford or Wisconsin jump TCU for the title game. TCU does not deserve to be in the title game. IMHO.

The SEC is the best football conference almost every year. Very impressive. But a lot of people in the South are absolutely delusional about its dominance (no thanks to ESPN's endless Big Ten-smear campaign). If the SEC were as great as people in Alabama and South Carolina believe, they would win more Capital One and Outback bowls against the Big Ten.

Next year, when the Big Ten has the same number of teams as the SEC, things will appear less lopsided to the casual observer. The Big Ten was missing one elite program vs. the SEC. Starting next year, the Big Ten has one of the Big XII's best. And these two conferences should be virtual equals in football.

Oklahoma can't decide...

Neither can the 24 people from Vermont who bothered to vote.

Does Arkansas deserve a BCS bid ahead of a one-loss team? Depends on the team. I think Michigan State is more deserving, but the "2 BCS teams from one conference" rule will exclude them. One-loss Stanford is more deserving, and they have a BCS bid locked up. The only other one-loss teams in the country are Boise State and Nevada, and Arkansas should clearly go ahead of either.

I agree that the SEC get a little overbearing when it comes to football. I had one SEC friend of mine tell me that Kentucky would finish 2nd or 3rd in our conference behind the conference champion. This was before the 3 way tie.

I think that there is only one way to decide this.... BIG 10/SEC challenge in football. Much like basketball, but make it for football. The kicker is that we play it in November. SEC fans complain all the time about the cold, but do not many SEC football player want or do make it to the NFL and many of the NFL cities are in colder weather communities and play in weather that was much colder than what we saw on Saturday against Iowa.

I know that it would never happen, but it would put an end to this stupid debate on who is better. The bowl games are not even a good gauge because many of the games are played in Florida and the South (I know that they would never play a bowl game up north because of the weather) but it is a lot easier for fans to drive a few hours rather than having to hop a flight to go see a game.

Is your question should or will?

Should? Yeah, probably.

Will? No chance. TCU will absolutely, 100%, be playing in the title game if either Auburn or Oregon loses.

Wisconsin's computer rankings are terrible (they actually rank behind Arkansas and Oklahoma, and are tied with LSU), so they would not be able to pass Stanford in any sort of hypothetical.

Ask your friend how it can be that the Big 10 always goes toe to toe with the SEC in bowl games and wins its share (what is it, something like a 1 game ADVANTAGE for the Big 10 over the past 10 or 15 years?)

I have always felt it is pretty remarkable considering the games are played in SEC territory.

Of course, the SEC has had a couple convincing wins against Ohio State in the NC game so that makes the rest of the results easy to forget, I guess.

The question is poorly worded. Assume that Stanford, Ohio State and TCU are three of the four at-large BCS teams. Then it comes down to Arkansas & Boise St or Nevada. I think it is crazy to say that Arkansas isn't the most deserving of the three schools. If they put it in that context I think the results of the poll are much different. When the say over a 1 loss team without giving context than the natural inclination is to not think and just vote no because 1 loss is better than 2 losses.

Completely agree.

I know good and well where one of those losses (beat downs) for the SEC came from. :D

I was thinking the same thing. Arkansas is far more deserving than Boise State or Nevada. But a lot of people probably have Wisconsin, Michigan State, OSU and Stanford in-mind when answering that poll question. At this point, I think most people assume that anyone from the MWC is out.

One could probably make a better argument for a third SEC or Big Ten team if the rules allowed it.
