Let's hear some favorites, here are some of mine.

Gyropolis in Bloomington, best gyros I've had.

Tongue in Cheek on Payne Ave in St Paul, high end restaurant quality at half the price. I wish it was close to my house. Must try.

Momo Sushi in NE, great sushi for the price.

King Coil Spirits, off Vandalia and 94 St Paul, only been once but the food was awesome.

Some of my favorite more expensive restaurants.
Alma, 112 eatery, gus gus, travail, kado no mise.

Speaking of gyros, what about that place in St Louis Park, Ariana Kabob and Gyro Bistro? Haven't been there, but was just reading about it earlier today.

I don't have much to add to this thread because I almost never eat out. too cheap and I stick to a fairly strict diet after a previous heart attack.

But - I was over in Sioux Falls a few years ago for work and we ate at one of these Hibachi places where they cook the food in front of you on this big grill and the chef puts on a show by flipping knives and so forth. that was really good - but the servings were so big I ate twice what I normally would.

any places like that in MN to recommend?

The one I used go to is history. Was located off Portland, just north of 494, Mongolian BBQ

Benihana and Osaka are good options in the cities and produce almost the same tasting product, although I prefer the YumYum sauce at Benihana's slightly.

I always get the Filet-Scallops combo but their chicken and shrimp options are also excellent.

The dinner price for both runs around $35-45 depending on your dinner selection and comes with soup, ginger salad (oh yeah!!!) and fried rice.

My entire family is addicted to Japanese steakhouses so this is always our birthday gathering spot.

Now I'm hungry...

For pizza. Black Sheep coal fired pizza. A slam dunk.
