College football fans will always remember "Run Lindsay Run!". Look it up on YouTube if you are unfamiliar with it. If you ever listened to him you'd never guess he was from the cities.

Correction. LARRY Munson. Not the Kingpin!!

thanks for the post. to your comment that i bolded. umm.....why? not all of us native minnesotans talk like the silly rubes portrayed in the movie "fargo". in fact, i find that very few who actually grew up in the immediate minneapolis/st. paul metro have the upper-midwest (minnesota, wisconsin, iowa, up michigan, northwest illinois) german/scandinavian accent. imo, if you grew up st. cloud or northward then it can be a different story.

most people i meet who are actually from the minneapolis/st. paul area have a standard, dry midwest accent and dialect. tom brokaw kind of accent and dialect. which is what is sounds like this larry munson guy (originally from southeast minneapolis & roosevelt high school) had.

Having lived in GA since the late 80's, I got the chance to listen to Larry call quite a few UGA games. He just bled for UGA and could absolutely rivet you to the radio.

Look up his "Run, Lindsay, run", "My God, a Freshman" or "Hobnail Boot" calls. Classics, the likes of which we will never hear again.
