Damn fun to watch. My oldest daughter was two years old. We were changing the oil and putting in a new battery while listening on the radio. We ran upstairs to watch the rest of the game after Michigan "tied" the game. Ray Christiansen went berserk on the fumble. Great ending.

Caveat: the oldest is having the first grandchild in August, just in time for the 2012 season. Little Highwayman will see his first game this fall!

I like how the Michigan TV crew pooh-poohs the end of the game...

Thanks for posting the film. I was at the game in Ann Arbor with my wife. It was the best Gopher game I have ever seen.

Wow, hard to tell who the PBP guy wanted to win by the way he called the winning kick. Glad I was listening to 'CCO where they were excited!

What I find fascinating is that there wasn't a mad dash for the jug. Most of the players were celebrating, including Sweet Feet, but it didn't seem as though the whole team moved en masse to find the jug. I've seen photos of the jug on the field that day, so we certainly did find it. But it certainly has changed with how teams go "get" their trophies.

Fun to watch! I remember where I was and what I was doing on that day.

You could have at least posted "Love Happy" - starring The Marx Brothers which was following the game. THAT would have made my night tonight.

That first, explosive burst by Foggie (at the 7:12 mark) is one of my all-time favorite Gopher moments. Man...he was fun to watch.

HHH_Gopher, I was at the game and some of the players did make a dash for the Jug when the game ended. As I recall they carried over to the part of the stadium where the Minnesota fans were seated. The offensive line coach was so excited when the coaches ran on the field after the game that ran into Lloyd Stein and knocked him down. Everyone from Minnesota was very excited, but the rest of the stadium just sat in stunned silence after the wining field goal.

I think I remember a speech by the legenary Butch Nash being central to this effort. This was a total team effort, and that is Jim Harbaugh at the controls of the Michigan offense. What a defense that gives up only 17 points against Michigan, Nebrasaka, Ohio State could do.

Thanks MNBob. Might just be how it was portrayed on the video. Still has a different feel than 2005 when the entire squad, led by Eslinger, streamed across the field.

Per your request:

I remember sitting in my deer stand with a transistor radio glued to my ear listening to the game. When Lohmiller made the winning kick and I heard Ray start going berserk, so did I! At that point I didn't care if any deer were within range.
