According to Rivals. I know there is a thread that says he was looking around, but the new headline is that Minnesota is no longer recruiting him.

If true, possibly some sour grapes by our recruiters when he started looking around. More likely, they probably feel that they stood by him while he attempted to throw his entire FB career in the toilet off the field and his looking around is a slap in the face. If so, I respect our recruiters more than if they had landed him.

Can't really say I blame the coaches if they aren't recruiting him anymore. The kid has been nothing short of completely irresponsible since he committed. I kind of figure that if he commits to Illinois, as has been rumored, he'd fit right in with the tight ship that Zook runs over there.

I have to agree. Where was Illinois when he was having all his problems?

Would have been shocked had he made it here based on all of his issues he has had before he even graduated high school. I mean come on, even his former high school team said no thanks.

In my opinion, once a commit shows signs of wavering, he should be dumped. I can't stand Iowa, but I like that Ferentz won't take a commitment if the kid wants to take more visits after "committing". I feel like you de-value a Minnesota scholarship (or any school for that matter) if you let kids shop around their scholarship while you twist in the wind not knowing if you truly have that spot filled or need to keep recruiting the position.

Some recruits like to use a commitment as a fallback in case they can't get anything else, and will jump at the first offer better. But it works both ways, if you're going to shop around, the U is going to keep shopping too.
