Hey Golden Gophers,

I used to keep up a NC State Basketball Recruiting Chart over at PackPride (the NC State Scout boards) which combined all the links and ratings from Scout, ESPN, and Rivals. It got difficult to maintain by hand, so I automated the process, and threw a basic UI together and put it up on the web. I did the same for all the other schools while I was automating it.

I started cleaning up the rosters on my fellow ACC teams first, and then moved on to the rest of the BCS conferences. My fellow ACC fans seemed to like it a lot, so I hope you will find it useful as well.

BTW, I haven't gotten to validating the active rosters for schools outside the BCS conferences yet, so that data will be inaccurate due to red-shirts, prep schools, junior colleges and transfers.

I'd also love to hear any suggestions you might have to improve the site as well; I'll try to implement them if I can keep my wife from leaving me for spending all my time working on this site.

Anyway, here is the Minnesota page, let me know if you see any corrections, or have any questions. Hope you enjoy!

No that it matters anymore, but wasn't Paul Carter a SR last season?

That is awesome. Thank you!

The only thing I see is that Halvorson is listed as a scholarship guy but he is a walk-on.

Edit: you could also probably move Austin Hollins to SF and Ahanmisi to PG.

Very cool...thanks! And I do want a Goodluck Okonoboh Gopher.

Halvorson is now shown as a walk-on w/ purple being the designated color for walk-on players. So your scholly numbers should be correct now. Let me know know if they're not.

As for positions of players, I go by what the recruiting services have listed, if there is a discrepancy, I use 2/3 voting.

Also, Kendall Shell is a FR walk-on point guard. Website looks good though.

Yeah, I'll need to do something to automate the profile creation of walk-ons at every school. I'll have to get back to you on this one, so I'm not adding hundreds of walk-ons on a one-off basis.

Very cool man.... keep it up. I love looking at the star rankings and seeing how accurate they turn out to be.

It really gets convaluted with the transfers but it really lays it out, Cobbs would be a Junior at the U. That is the only thing that I see that would be different.

This is extremely impressive, good stuff. Also sad to see another form of our potential upperclassmen talent that has gone away. :(

Yeah, I've been torn on that feature, perhaps a way to hide the transfers?

Very good stuff! Any way you can join the Maroon and Gold? I think I can line up a vintage letterman's jacket for you.

I'm pretty partial to the Red and White of NC State, but I go on a cabin trip every year with 12 guys that went to U of Minnesota and you guys are awesome!

Hey Golden Gophers,

In an attempt to get my mind off this afternoon's game, and any bodily harm I might inflict on an ACC referee on behalf of my NC State Wolfpack, I decided I'd give you an update on the site:

For those of you who were having issues with the size of the chart being too large and having to scroll left to right, I've made a fix so that viewing the page should be easier with no scrolling.

The rankings are now in lock-step with ESPN, Scout and Rivals. I've now put in place a process that checks for new rankings nightly, so they should stay in sync. I've also added the change between the current rankings and the previous rankings for each player.

I've added a check for changes in the star value for each player's profile at Scout, Rivals and ESPN, so issues with the star values being "stale" for players should now be addressed.

I've added the team committed to for the player ranking pages, and addressed the issue where the 2013 rankings weren't showing up properly.

I've also added twitter profiles for every ranked recruit (overall or by position) that I could find for the classes of 2012 and 2013.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

I still need to address some issues with the color of links for light colored primary color teams and colorblind disambiguation marks, but I thought I'd give you guys the updates.

2013 Recruiting

Since we were talking about recruiting thought I'd bring this one back. I'm guessing this will be a popular topic shortly.
