Minnesota at 21, 5 in the B1G.

I think the committee picked the best team for the fourth playoff spot, but don't think for a second that they would have let in a team with such dismal ratings as TCU/Baylor when they could have defensibly picked a team with an actual following. People enjoy watching a few Baylor highlights, but by and large no one cares about that team.

Ahead of Sconnie. Very interesting. If this was basketball, I'd argue it was because Bo Ryan ball is so ugly to watch. But in football, neither team looks anything like Joe Montana's 49ers...

Would be interesting to see where our ratings were 2 years ago. If we keep putting together good seasons I have no doubt we will move into the Top 15 soon.

Thanks for the info. Minnesota bringing in more average weekly viewers than Wisconsin, Penn State and Iowa. And not too far behind supposedly "national" program Nebraska. Take note B1G office when you are scheduling weekly game slotting with the TV networks next year.

Go Gophers! Ski-U-Mah!

Yeah, we played Michigan and Ohio State. wisky played rutgers and maryland.

Thanks!

You can see why CBS and the SEC want to hang on to that Saturday National broadcast and how important that kind of broadcast is. ABC has a Regional broadcast for that 2:30 game. Sharing it with ESPN. The SEC is good draw but that Network National Broadcast is gonna bring you more viewers. Only that huge Alabama/Auburn game tops and breaks into the Top 15.

Don't know why we still get people arguing about that.

Looking at the BYU and Texas numbers just underlines again, what an idiotic decision it was for the Big 12 to tear itself apart to placate the Longhorns. Also shows that ESPN, Texas and BYU heavily over-valued the drawing power of those schools.

I was just gonna post that this graphic mostly shows that a national network broadcast > regional network broadcast.

Looks like Rutgers and Maryland didn't deliver a lot of those east coast college football fans.

Thanks!

Regional in the sense where there is one game that is only on ABC in the home markets otherwise the rest of the country gets the other national game, right?

Yes, most times I think. Though haven't seen a game that is only shown in the two home market. Usually it covers more territory then that. Other times there are 3 games split around the country. Add in a game on the BTN and it could be 3 or 4. Don't know if the Pac-12 or SEC networks bleed into that time slot or not.
