Mike Thorne Jr, Illinois Starting Center, Out For The Season

He was averaging 13ppg and 8rpg. It seems like Illinois just can't catch a break with all of the injuries they have had the past few years. That being said, I would be surprised if this wasn't Groce's last season in Illinois.

Well, given that he was their highest performing player so far and the Gophers play them twice, I'd say that's good news for us. I won't say that I have no sympathy for Illinois' bad breaks but the Gophers need all the breaks they can get.

sounds like our football team: PG Tracy Abrams (torn ACL, done for season), SG Kendrick Nunn (torn thumb ligament, return late December), PF Leron Black (torn meniscus, return early December) and SG Jalen Coleman-Lands (return late November). now Thorne and add Darius Paul's getting kicked off the team over the summer

Damn so Illinois is down to seven scholarship players for the time being. Getting Black and Nunn back will help
