You have to love the intensity with which Arizona's offense and defense are playing against Oregon's point-a-minute team. Imagine the Gophers playing with that intensity! I hope Stoops is in the field for our job, though haven't heard anything either way.

huh? No way he would leave Arizona to come here.

1) He probably would leave AZ.
2) He's back on the hotseat there. After a hot start, he's sitting at his usual 7-4ish type year.

3) Like Stan, I'll pass. His sideline demeanor isn't intense. It is insane. Embarrassing really. He's a ticking time bomb. And, a mediocre coach.

He's a lot like Mason in that his teams beat the teams they're suppose to beat but generally struggle against tougher competition. I'll pass.

I think he's a good coach, but I didn't like him channeling his inner Pelini a couple of times during the game. He was all over a couple of assistants at a couple of junctures, but at least he didn't seem to berate his players or become overly confrontational with the refs.

He has proven he can develop QB's which is the major test for a coach, besides winning. He has developed players into NFL kids at a higher rate than Arizona had before him, and he was a semifinalist for coach of the year last. He is a pretty respected guy in the coaching community.

Anybody still really wanting Mike Stoops? I was not interested from the start, see above. He went Brewster on the bit and ended the year with 4 straight losses including losing to your arch rival by having an EP blocked in the last minute of regulation and to end the 2nd overtime.

Finished the year 7-5 (4-5) in the PAC-10. Beat Iowa at home, so did we. 40-44 at Arizona overall and 27-34 in the PAC 10. Best record ever in 7 years? 8-5. Can some of you please stop pining for Mike Stoops?
