per the Detroit Free Press:

When it comes to unique behavior, Jim Harbaugh and P.J. Fleck lead the way — with room to spare — inside the Big Ten Conference.

On Saturday night(7:30 p.m., FOX), Harbaugh's Michigan squad will welcome Fleck's Minnesota team into Michigan Stadium for a Little Brown Jug game.

Neither has coached against the other before. They don't come from the same coaching tree. Their paths have barely crossed. Outside of coaching football and briefly living in the state of Michigan at the same time, there aren't many direct ties between the two.

Well, that's not quite true.

"He's one of the coaches I've respected and looked up to for a long time, especially as a young coach," Fleck said Tuesday on the Big Ten teleconference. "We're always taught to be ourselves and I don't know a lot of coaches who are truly themselves.

"Jim Harbaugh is himself. And he's taught me, for a long time, that it's OK to be yourself. I give him a lot of credit for that. He's a trailblazer and a pioneer of making sure you can be yourself in all areas."

Fleck has his oar, Harbaugh has his meritocracy. Fleck's always talking about being "elite," Harbaugh's always talking about bringing an "enthusiasm unknown to mankind."

Go Gophers!!

What Harbaugh said about PJ:
"I've always been impressed (with him). Being around him in person (a bit) and watching those Western Michigan teams, and now mostly I'm impressed with the Minnesota team," Harbaugh said Tuesday. "The hustle is the first thing that stands out. You watch the film, you click it on and you see the hustle. Good players, tough schemes."

"The way they hustle to the ball, they way they go after the ball defensively. The tempo of play in all three phases. They play hard and with a lot of hustle. Talented guys who are coached well. A good ball club. That's what I'm watching right now."

Sure, but do they hustle?

Is "hustle" a patronizing term?

Golly-gee, they sure hustle!

It's nice to hear but I'll always remember the praise for Brewster that he got from everyone in the conference about what a great job he was doing.

I suspect they knew otherwise... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1Y73sPHKxw

It's funny to hear other coaches speak up when a HC gets fired. You always hear stuff like that.

"Oh, sorry to see him go. I thought he had them on the right track! It's a travesty that the University is letting him go! (Sure I went 6-0 against the guy as did most other coaches in our conference, but...)"

Yeah and on gameday I'm sure they're talking to the other coaches "What is this guy even doing?!?!? Oh man...."
