after that heartbreaking loss. Badgers 53-52 on Gasser "bank is open" 3-pointer at buzzer.

Beat Michigan.

Can't even imagine the frustration Michigan fans are going through. A buzzer beater bank three by a freshman? Ridiculous.

So SS- I can't stand it that I'm even asking this question- Do the Gopher still have a chance if they get to 9-9? I thought 9-9 was okay if they beat MSU - not so sure now. What say you?

Last night I had comfortably written off the year- today I am back grasping for air.

Nothin' wrong with hope. It keeps us going. I still like our chances at 9-9. This loss by Michigan helps us in terms of the other Big Ten bubble teams. We just need to win a game.

Other results are going pretty well tonight. ... BC lost, Alabama losing, VCU lost, Colorado State losing, Michigan loses. I'd be willing to bet if we win Saturday that we'll be one of Lunardi's first 4 out when he releases his Monday bracket. All things considered it could be worse. Again, let's just win a game & go from there.

Thanks. I guess I'll drag myself up off the mat and get myself ready for another must win. :)

We match up well with Michigan with our size

Let's start with a 1-game winning streak. I have more confidence we'll beat Michigan than I did MSU. Don't think they can handle our size & they're young. The season series has been a sweep each of the last three seasons. Let's bookend our sweep from 2007-08.

What scares me about Michigan and us playing that 2-3 zone though is that if they get at all hot from range, it could be over fast. Remember our game at Ann Arbor? I think we outboarded them almost 3-1, and shot over 50% and still nearly lost because they hit 12 treys. We need to utterly dominate the interior again, and step up the hustle on the perimeter.

I've got nothing but respect for Wiscy and Bo Ryan but clearly the man has a huge horseshoe up his a$$. What team gets more end of the shot clock/game clock heaves to go in than the Badgers? I am a huge proponent of "you make your own luck" and that is certainly in play for Bo and the boys but my God...I want to puke. We could sure use just a little luck here every once in a while. Let's beat Michigan.

+ Hardaway Jr. is quite the player. Man, I wish we would have picked him up.

If not for Sullinger, Hardaway would be run-away winner for Big Ten's Freshman of the Year.

Lunardi has a cool S curve graph of the whole field and bubble on Insider. It is pretty interesting. The Gophers are certainly not out of it by any means. He calls 21 teams for 10 spots, which is close to what SS is saying. Should be an interesting end to the season.

It's rather quite amazing that the Gophers still have a legitimate shot at this thing despite the 1-6 over last 7. Amazingly, the Gophers still have one of the beter resumes out there among true bubble teams despite the fact we've only beaten one top-50 team since Puerto Rico.

If the Gophers can't make the field this year, even with the injuries/transfer, they'll have no one to blame but themselves. There are several regrettable losses, but the Indiana loss is the one that's still eating at me. IU sucks, and they haven't won since we lost to 'em.

I try to avoid being a homer, but I really do think given the right matchup(s) the Gophers can win a game or 2 in the NCAA, if they get there. If they play a pressing and/or athletic team (say someone like Mizzou) they're toast, but otherwise I think with their size they can slog it out with most anyone and cause problems. There's just that matter of having to win about 3 games between now and then.

If Al's back by then I agree.

according to this board much of the Gophers problems are that freshmen are getting significant minutes. Michigan seems to be doing ok with freshmen getting significant minutes. maybe it has more to do with the talent level of the players and not what class year they are in?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't freshmen getting minutes, it's that we have no ball handling guards anymore. I've heard little about the freshmen being a reason for not winning games, if anything, people want to see more of them.

I would say its very similar to michigan, in some of our games freshman have been the bright spots, however like michigan has seen, inexperience at the end of games can be a killer like us against msu, them with ft's/rebounding/defense at the end of the wisco game...

Michigan's dobber might be down. ...

Then again, their dobber might be up????

We seem to be the place to come to and get healthy. Purdue lost to OSU then played us on Jan 29 and won. As you stated IU beat us and has lost since, well, they lost a tough one to MSU before beating us. Ill came to play us on Feb 10 after just losing to Northwestern. We may very well be the perfect Rx for MI, they may be looking forward to playing us to get back on track.
