after that heartbreaking loss. Badgers 53-52 on Gasser "bank is open" 3-pointer at buzzer.
Beat Michigan.

Nothin' wrong with hope. It keeps us going. I still like our chances at 9-9. This loss by Michigan helps us in terms of the other Big Ten bubble teams. We just need to win a game.
Other results are going pretty well tonight. ... BC losing, Colorado State losing, Michigan loses. I'd be willing to bet if we win Saturday that we'll be one of Lunardi's first 4 out when he releases his Monday bracket. All things considered it could be worse. Again, let's just win a game & go from there.
What scares me about Michigan and us playing that 2-3 zone though is that if they get at all hot from range, it could be over fast. Remember our game at Ann Arbor? I think we outboarded them almost 3-1, and shot over 50% and still nearly lost because they hit 12 treys. We need to utterly dominate the interior again, and step up the hustle on the perimeter.
It's rather quite amazing that the Gophers still have a legitimate shot at this thing despite the 1-6 over last 7. Amazingly, the Gophers still have one of the beter resumes out there among true bubble teams despite the fact we've only beaten one top-50 team since Puerto Rico.
If the Gophers can't make the field this year, even with the injuries/transfer, they'll have no one to blame but themselves. There are several regrettable losses, but the Indiana loss is the one that's still eating at me. IU sucks, and they haven't won since we lost to 'em.
I try to avoid being a homer, but I really do think given the right matchup(s) the Gophers can win a game or 2 in the NCAA, if they get there. If they play a pressing and/or athletic team (say someone like Mizzou) they're toast, but otherwise I think with their size they can slog it out with most anyone and cause problems. There's just that matter of having to win about 3 games between now and then.
If Al's back by then I agree.
+ Hardaway Jr. is quite the player. Man, I wish we would have picked him up.
according to this board much of the Gophers problems are that freshmen are getting significant minutes. Michigan seems to be doing ok with freshmen getting significant minutes. maybe it has more to do with the talent level of the players and not what class year they are in?
