The Michigan Wolverines announced on Thursday that senior running back Drake Johnson was hospitalized after a freak accident that reportedly involved a forklift.

Per Angelique Chengelis of the Detroit News, the university released a statement confirming Johnson was involved in an accident at an indoor track building, although it didn't provide an update on his status. The statement also noted Johnson "was referred to the U-M Health system for further evaluation," per Chengelis.

According to Derick Hutchinson of Local 4 WDIV in Detroit, a source said Johnson was hit by a forklift while stretching at practice.

I hope he is okay, but what a great opportunity for the U to use as a recruiting tool. You know, come to the University of Minnesota and we guarantee no forklift accidents. This should have the four and five stars racing to Gopher land.

Freak accident or just not using a forklift correctly?

Harbaugh just keeps showing signs of insanity. He will wear out his welcome by the end of this season.
 



Any truth to the rumor that Harbaugh wants to award a scholarship to the forklift and have it play nose guard?

I believe so. Harbaugh was heard saying that if you come to a forklift, take it.
 


Local 4 WDIV reports that Harbaugh will be spending the night with the forklift, where they will order pizza and play video games.
