Anybody else think this is is just stupid???

"ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP)—Rich Rodriguez has the non-contact jerseys all ready for Michigan’s quarterbacks.

The coach just isn’t ready to hand them out quite yet.

“We haven’t put our quarterbacks in different-colored jerseys yet,” he said. “Normally, you’d do that, but we need to work on ball security at that position. We weren’t good enough with that last season, and it isn’t something you can learn without being tackled.”

So sophomores Tate Forcier and Denard Robinson, along with freshman Devin Gardner, aren’t being protected."

Michigan's QBs had serious issues with ball security last year. You don't learn how to protect the ball if you aren't getting hit. While I love to hate Michigan, I can't say I blame RichRod for this particular decision.

Michigan QB's..........

Sounds pretty dumb to me. Stay tuned for the next round of QB injuries at Big Blue U.

Also sounds like Rich-Rod is going for broke with this "idea".

Dumb and dumber. Amen.

Not dumb at all IMO and not completely unique.

Ohio State allowed contact in half of their spring game last year before giving the QB's the red jerseys. Brewster said prior to spring practice that Minnesota was going to run some drills with their QB's that allow contact.

IMO there is no point in overreacting to how Michigan wants to run their practice. Even in contact drills players know that there is a difference between tackling the QB and lighting him up.

This is football, the QB could just as well get injured opening a pop can or lifting weights. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen!
