a choke job by Michigan, cause them a share of the big ten title.

Michigan choked that game away in the final minute

According to some-free throws don't matter.

@DanWetzel
Tom Crean got into it twice postgame with a Michigan assistant. Wild scene here in Ann Arbor

OMG!!!! One minute I looked at the score and was all pissed because IU was blowing it, and way too far down to come back with so little time left. Then I got distracted writing a response to someone, and when I saw the title to this thread, I couldn't believe it!!!

And btw, FREE THROWS MATTER A TON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We lost to Nebraska by 2. and only made what? 20% of our first 14 free throws in that game?????

Wish I could have seen the game. They had a telethon on down here. I'm all about raising money for a kid's charity. Just unlucky timing for me.

Not surprised there was an incident with Crean. He's a jerk.

Indiana was DEAD. Michigan missing those free throws was like manna from heaven for IU.

I say feel the pain, Wolverine fans. Just the same as us Gopher fans felt after that quarterfinal loss to UM in last year's BTT.

"This game wasn't blown on the free throw line," Michigan coach John Beilein insisted."

Like that crazy guy Beilein.

What was most significant about free throws in today's game was that neither team was able to get to the line very often.

The offensive rebounding numbers for Indiana were extreme... that killed Michigan.

Always interested to see people freak out over free throws, yet there were two misses - a layup and a put back tip - just before the game ended.

Plays at the game are obviously important to the outcome of many games, but Beilein is right - there's a lot more to Michigan's loss than a few missed free throws.

What you seem to ignore is that as a defender, you can't stop the clock and send a player to make a layup or a put back tip to get the ball back. Making free throws at the end of a close game is critical. No matter how they got to that close game situation, the only way you can protect a lead is by making your end of game free throws and playing D.

That was weird, I'm guessing Crean was pandering to the IU fan base knowing he was on camera. It was his choice to leave Marquette for IU, so not sure why it was his job to berate this guy?

And why now? Did something else happen? The guy has been at Michigan since 2008, Crean certainly knew where to find him if he had something to say. Seems like he was been waiting to have the upper hand and then pounce. They finally win a Big Ten title and this is what he wants to do?
