How that happens is that they didn't think he was going to amount to much at the time, so they didn't apply in the hopes that he would transfer out and/or graduate as soon as possible so his scholarship would open up a year earlier. How convenient that they've applied for the waiver now that he looks like the starting QB for the rest of his college career.

I agree. Yes, it is most definitely ridiculous. You think if the Gophers did this with a player, we'd get a waiver for that player? No way. Just ridiculous.
They must not think Morris can step on campus even after a RS year and be the guy. Surprising considering they wanted to go more pro-style on offense and they had recruited to that end.
Because he is smart enough to know that guys like Russell Wilson are few and far between in the rent-a-qb market.
