Michael Carter a Gopher

We should ease up on WI being our target.........aim higher, they do.

Welcome Carter!

Well rivals gave Taikwon Paige over 400 points for the standings so we'll have to see what Carter gets. Hopefully that many...

I think Hasan Lipscomb lost his Rivals 250 status within a day of Paige decommitting. As I understand, that affected our total class points as well as Paige's decommitment for a total of about 400 points. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't really care about beating Wisky in the recruiting standings. I just want more overall talent for the program and adding Carter definitely does that. I actually was pretty pleased with our class before the Carter rumors started, but adding him is obviously a benefit.

Let's see who else ends up signing on the dotted line!!!

PS-these are the guys that have already signed according to rivals:
Alipate,
Carter,
Garin,
Keise,
Lewis,
Michel,
Olson,
Orseske,
Singleton,
Watkins,
Wills (signed earlier)

I have to admit I've been a bit more disconnected the past few weeks, kind of numbed by all the coaching changes and the commits and decommits. But when Mr. Gopherfaith called me on my way to work this morning to tell me Carter did indeed decommit from WVU and sign with the Gophers, my whole attitude took a turn for the better. Brewster and his staff can pretty much deliver when it comes to recruiting. I can't wait to see how the program continues to gel, and I'm fired up for Sept 12!!

This is a pleasant surprise, but I hope it wasn't the result of negative recruiting. I have a lot of respect for Brewster, but with all the back-biting that goes on in recruiting, these last-minute changes always make me arch an inner eyebrow.

If that's true, it's a nice catch. Well done.

Do you have any evidence that Brew's Crew has ever engaged in negative recruiting? Brewster's over the top positive and I just don't see it coming from his staff. I'm sure they compare situations for the recruits, but showing how our positives stack up against another school is not negative recruiting. However, flat out trashing a school's coaches, program or academics is.

Someone on the WV board posted that after Carter committed, the WV coaches didn't contact him as much while the MN coaches did. That made him feel like MN was more like "family" while WV just wanted him. No idea if anyone could confirm this.

This is great news for the gophs. And I believe the right choice for the young man. I'm very happy.

Where are all the Brew hater's today?! I feel a gopherGod post coming that will make us all laugh! :D
