Maybe Tubby Can Recruit a New Assistant Coach?

I like that idea a lot Dr.Don. I don't know if Pelphrey would be more interested in a high major assistant job or a mid to low major head coaching job at this point in his career.

If I'm not mistaken, Tubby was an assistant when Pelphrey played at Kentucky.

Jirsa and Taylor ????

I wonder how good Jirsa and Taylor really are. Anybody have any thoughts on these two assistants?

I know Jirsa failed at Georgia.

I also know that Taylor had a great reputation as a recruiter but we haven't really gotten the big names he was suppose to attract has he?

And Saul...Is he really an asset or is he another Pat Knight?

I look at it this way. It is a damned good question you asked, however, Pelphrey has experience at an upper level position, and if it were me, I would join Tubby and start there instead of moving backwards. But then again, it might just be about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Bring him in Tubby, and let him work with the BIG GUYS day on day.

I do not disqualify a good person because of being fired from somewhere else. Maybe, just maybe, if Tubby would bring him on board, it would help resurrect TWO situations...Pelphrey and the GOPHERS!!!

BTW, Pelphrey is no slouch.

Just run the shuffle. No true PG required.

Back in my day we called it the WHEEL. Keep it going round and round and all of a sudden a defensive player falls asleep and BAM. Too bad the shot clock ruined the WHEEL!

We could use some proven help? John Pelphrey from Arkansas:

GO GOPHERS!!!

Your article wasn't very helpful in determining if Pelphrey could actually coach big men so I went looking for some background. Low and behold, the following report indicates Arkansas was investigating Pelphrey for possible recruiting violations on March 10 and now he's reported fired on March 13th.

Now there's a coaching candidate we can all relate to.:D

While it never hurts to get better coaching, I'll leave it to Maturi and Tubby to decide if players aren't being properly taught. Our biggest problems relate to player personnel and mainly go back to all the players that have been lost in the last 15 months and should have been here. Al Nolen was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

Calgoph...and he has never done a god-damned thing compared to Tressel and Ohio State.
