Fire your coach early and create a 3 ring circus with names flying around when more coaches get the ax.
Wait until more HC jobs become available and have some qualified coaches who you are not particulary interested pursue and land those jobs, making your pool of candidates smaller.
and then hire..........
Mike Leach, who is the only qualified coach left over (even though some of you may view him as toxic, he is now the only coach left who is available because we have been dawdling so much and all of the other coaches are gone). Since he is the last coach left we get a bit of a discount.
Serious question here:
Does anyone think it's unusual for Charlie Walters to have interviewed Leach and have direct quotes from Leach in his columns showing that Leach is interested in the job. Could this be their way of selling Gopher fans and gauging interest of the fans at the same time? They could be conditioning us to want/like the Leach hire......it would be kinda sweet if my theory was not completely nuts.
