A couple weeks ago, I wrote how it’s never easy to be a Gopher fan, remember? How nothing ever comes easy? Let’s forget I wrote that, if only for one day. Today was the game that Gopher fans have been waiting for versus their archrival since 2009 when the Hawkeyes embarrassed the Gophers at home 55-0. Heck, it was the game Gopher fans have been waiting for since 2002 when Iowa fans stormed the Metrodome field and tore down their opponent’s goalposts. Yes, the Gophers had beaten Iowa since then, but they had not crushed them like they themselves had been crushed years before.
Today was finally the day for Iowa’s comeuppance. Today was the day all debts were paid.
