Anyone know anything about him? What I do know is that he is from Coon Rapids and made about three big catches in the spring game before getting hurt. What is his story? Was he a star in high school? Where did he play before joining the gophers? Did he have good stats? I had really never heard of him before. Found a few things online but not much in college.

I believe he played at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. Same conference as Minnesota State University - Moorhead, Winona State, etc.

Yeah, I don't know much about him.

To be honest, I went to practices and he never really stood out to me but I am far from an expert and I wasn't focusing on him much (more watching Harris, Jones, Green, Kiese and Wilson).

He probably is fairly fast as well. I know he was the best sprinter at Northern State (he was on the track team) as a freshman.

In his 55 m (60 yards) he had the school's fastest time that season at 6.67seconds.
In his 50 m (66 yards) he has the school's fastest time that season at 7.16seconds.

I don't really know how well that translates to 40 times or whatever, but I imagine a good D2 sprinter would be a pretty fast football player. I am sure there are guys here who know a lot more about this than I do that can better break down those numbers, but I got them from Northern University's Track and Field page (2009).

It would really be great if

a receiver could come out of nowhere---maybe you remember Aaron Ostermann--not highly rated but was a receiver you could always count on for a first down and some touchdowns. Ostermann did so much with his talent and was a huge plus for the gophers in the early 90s. He was just a gritty possession receiver who kind of surprised everyone i think.

what is going on with Kiese? I haven't heard much on him this spring and didn't notice him during the spring game. Is he injured or just buried at the bottom of the wr depth chart?

He was a little nicked up. I think Kiese had kind of a rough spring, he had a little case of the dropsies and he is a possesion receiver, so that makes things tough. I've been impressed with him in the past and I do think he will eventually be a pretty steady handed receiver. He looked natural but it almost looked like he was pressing. Typical mess ups of a RS FR.
