Maryland has lost 4 QBs to season ending injuries, will start converted LB or TE

If they had Klein, they would only be down to their third string.

If I was one of the players being put in the position to take over at QB I might beg not to be the guy for health reasons. 3 ACL's and a broken foot. I can't believe they are 4-4 all things considered.

A QB playing a new position with short notice due to injuries can sometimes result in unexpected outcomes. (Reference to Tom Matte here). I remember all of this from my days in the mid-60's when I was a college student, and the Baltimore Colts were the creme dela creme of Professional Football with the likes of Johnny Unitas, Lenny Moore, Dr. Raymond Berry, Big Daddy Lipscomb, et al.

What would make this even more of a story is if the converted linebacker chose to keep wearing his pads, facemask and linebacker number. That would be a made-for-TV moment.

All other things considered, I do believe that number could not be used by any potential eligible receiver, which must be under 50 or above 79, unless reports in as as eligible receiver on the line of scrimmage....... Please correct me if I am wrong.

Not only that...IF that would, could happen and the QB wears #51, then whichever Gopher Linebacker wearing GT's 51 would cream him so damned hard that their #51 QB would be carted off with his balls in his throat. Not a permanent injury, just an 'eye opener"!!!
