Nice to see him on there!

20. MarQueis Gray, Minnesota – How excited are the Gophers about Gray? They’re determined to take occasional reps from proven starter Adam Weber just to get him on the field. An exciting playmaker at 6-4 and 215 pounds, look for him to be employed in certain packages that make the most out of his ability to make connections and big plays on the move. Like a young Juice Williams, he’ll bird-dog some throws and is still raw as a passer, but his physical ability and considerable ceiling are indisputable.

I was actually suprised to see him ranked that low. For how highly regarded he was coming out of high school and how much people nationally have sang his praises, I thought for sure he would have been higher up on that list. People think more highly of Gray then the #19 player Curt Phillips from Wisky, ye Phillips is ranked higher. Just suprised me a little.

Yeah, if he was the second ranked QB his senior year, wouldn't #20 on an "up and coming" list be a "demotion"?

It's Minnesota though. You have to figure they are good to overlook us at least 10-15 spots.

Has anyone heard how he's looked in the preseason?
After watching the spring game, I honestly thought he could challenge Weber after he gets some real-game experience.
Using him in different packages is great, but he's going to be a hell of a quarterback.
Something tells me a quarterback controversy will be upon us by October.
That being said, I think the world of Weber, and hope he again rises to the occasion.

Gray is a tremendous athlete to be sure, but there is no way that he supplants Weber as the starter, or even creates a controversy. Next year, with a full year to learn and gain experience, sure, thats a possibility. But Weber is and will remain our starter for the entire season barring an injury God forbid.

I think he was the 2nd rated "Dual Threat" QB, not overall.
