Get the message to the U of M president. Failed both games.

Disagree.

We will never match the practically 100% participation in a PSU white out...apparently everyone in Beaver Stadium has a white shirt...go figure.

However, we are getting better although the gold M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A and Block M seats in TCF do not help with maroon outs if the seat is buttless.

My post was unclear …. My bad. The fans were great with their maroon out. The memo did not get to the president who did not wear maroon yesterday or gold for the gold out.

Yet another thread on this, oh well. These have been great and successful. Had many watching the stripe out on TV last year that said it looked great.

Yes, the previous Prez was fully engaged in the appropriate attire. Only dropoff was when it was really cold, and like most the heavy winter coat is more than not likely to be any colors than maroon or gold.

Took a while for the AD to get the memo but he has generally been good for several years.

Coach of course was in his always dapper maroon-top, maroon-bottom, and maroon tie. Couldn't see from the upper Visitors side whether the shoes were maroon too? He of course sported gold sneakers for the Gold Out. Did he show ankle yesterday?

lol at taking it to U of M president. The crowd was pathetic yesterday. The stripe out games have worked pretty well.

Wut. As someone actually at the game, please elaborate how we were pathetic.

It was a late arriving crowd, per usual for 11am kickoff. They were engaged and everyone around me was in maroon.

Shady side was packed. Sunny side less so. Crowd was loud and into it though. Students great as always since Fleck arrived.

I never said the crowd was not wearing maroon. Crowd was light. Pockets of seats everywhere.

Let's see your photos of you at the game

If you were at the game you would know the crowd was not an issue. Place was loud when it mattered. It was an 11am KO vs Rutgers FFS. People are always going to be wandering the concourse...only empty seats were the visiting sections.

Yeah, really not getting the comments. Crowd was fine. Upper NW (visitors) was the only place I saw where there was sparse crowd. Saw a lot of sunny side folks watching from the concourse.

The sun was intense for a late September game and it was warm in second half. I have had season tickets on both shady and sunny side. I thought crowd was good yesterday and it was a tight, hard fought football game. Concourse's were packed with people at halftime.

It takes time and branding. There should be one game per year that is branded as the Gold Out. Make it the known game every year. Tie it to charity. “The Masonic Children’s Gold Out”.

It’s not that hard. The Sponsor gave out 50,000 towels yesterday.

I would say all these have been successful over the last several years.

More fodder for Mrs. Billd's sewing project.

At least the homecoming game is at 6 or 6:30 under the lights. I am not sure how this will make the stripe out look under the lights.

Go Gophers.

Nice! Gaardsy has called out those (kfan cohorts) that don’t go to games and make observations. things like ‘nobody was there’ and other untruths. I’m not sure why folks would waste the time to make s up.

I thought it was a great crowd considering but there were lots of empty seats at stadiums around the country. The white out game was the exception but the helmet schools are not immune to this.

Open end zone. A ball went into first row and knocked a pretzel cheese cup against the concrete because well you have to eat before the game. Another kid put a ball in his bag. Another kid had his picture with the ball and his parents and gave it back. I do agree people are going to be wandering in the concourse. Still should be a sell out though. I’m not saying crowd wasn’t loud or into it but a lot of empty seats and I know where the visiting sections are and there were open seats in lower end zone all over the place. The students are doing their part but only student section in country in multiple decks. They need to take another section on each side below and sell tickets up top. There is no reason to not have 50k there yesterday.

As someone who attended a lot of tiny crowd games in Metrodome I appreciate any crowd nowadays. Also, we have at least one game a year now the intensity of Wisconsin 1993 or Michigan 2003. I didn’t attended a game in the Holtz era. I think the Oklahoma and Ohio St games in 1985 were as intense as any football games ever played in Minnesota period. I remember the jocks talking about games back then with awe. Too bad ND hire Jerry Faust. Holtz might have bought us a Rose Bowl in due time.

Did you hear that from someone in the know? I looked online and haven’t seen any game time announced for that game yet.
