A friend of mine texted me today and said he thinks that he may be in the mix of potential candidates. He lives in the Florida panhandle and follows FSU as closely as anyone could. He also knows some boosters and a few people who work for the program. He said he "heard" the Gophers were interested, so take it for what it's worth.

Mark or Mike Stoops would be good hires. Big Ten guys and more importantly, defensive guys.

does he have a pantherhawk logo tatooed on his leg?

We have one University of Iowa-bred head coach too many in this league as it is.

If you like coaches that scream constantly, stomp their feet, whine and complain about every call, and look like their heads are going to pop during the game (and beat Iowa), then Mike Stoops is your man. His antics on the sidelines get old real quick (especially when they are beating you).

As long as he wins, who cares?

agreed, it stresses me out just watching it, but the Stoops can win and are probably all well connected so maybe its worth a look

Defensive guy and a defensive backfield coach. It would be nice seeing our cornerbacks and safeties on the screen during replays again!

This "no to Iowa guys" or "no to Wisconsin guys" is ridiculous. Grow up. Let's just hire the best coach we can get for the money we are able to spend.

+1

Wisky isn't complaining too loudly about their coach an his squawk tattoo. I couldn't possibly care less where our new coach came from as long as he wins.

In terms of priorities, I want a coach first, recruiter second. That being said, I believe FSU has been doing very well on the recruiting front. I would suspect Marky has something to do with that.

Also, if it makes people feel any better, Marky's former Wildcat squad beat the Hawkeyes at the beginning of the year with a number of guys Mark recruited.

I'm just saying.
