Former Syracuse athletic director Mark Coyle is bringing two of his first hires along with him to Minnesota.
The University of Minnesota announced on Wednesday that it had hired John Cunningham and Rhonda McFarland, who were two of Coyle's first four hires at SU. Both took largely the same positions at Minnesota that they held at SU.
Cunningham becomes Minnesota's Deputy Athletics Director for Administration, while McFarland becomes Minnesota's Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Financial Officer. Both Cunningham and McFarland came to Syracuse with Coyle from Boise State, and now depart with him to Minnesota after spending less than a year at SU.
