"Word is former Notre Dame and Minnesota coach Lou Holtz is interested in returning to U as well. He sure made his mark briefly last time."

Go Gophers!!

Having Holtz's name thrown around reminds me of when the Gophers almost got stuck with Terry Holland the Virginia AD and coach from the 80s as their coach after the Haskins scandal.

Go Gophers!!

Surprise!! He wrote a paragraph inventing a title for himself that went beyond being football coach and sent it to Sid's editors.

I don't like Lou Holtz, and I don't think he'd win more than 2 games a year here. But it would be fun to watch him lose 10 games a year for a couple of years and stand behind the microphone. Maybe someplace else though.

The sad thing is that the average Minnesotan (ie has no clue about Gopher football) would want him to coach us. I'm continually amazed at how little this state knows about college football.

Thank god Terry's wife refused to move to MN. Then again, how much worse would he have been then Monson?

The man's starting to go senile, like his friend Sid. He just insisted that South Carolina would beat Auburn tomorrow because they're simply a better team. Reminds me of Sid insisting Brew and Chilly will not be fired.

Note - nowhere is it stated that the U of Mn is interested in him.

Yes, 90 year old Holtz would be a great hire for the long-term.

Sweet- hopefully he can get us out of the cold and into a neat domed stadium downtown! I'm pretty sure he wouldn't leave unless the Notre Dame job opened up. Anyone think that Chuck Long could win the Heisman this year?

Rickey Foggie, Tony Rice...I bet he's interested. If there's one guy who'd know what to do with M Gray it might be Holtz.

Would be so great if Maturi met with Hotlz, but not Leach. So great.

at first, in a twisted way, yes... And then, assuming the shock panels would do the job, I'd be left to face such a thing took place, and I would be sad; very, very sad.

At this point it wouldn't surprise me of Holtz was the only one who picked up his phone.

You mock until the play actually works.

say what you want, Holtz would have us in the Rose Bowl in 3 year tops.
