There were some very iffy rumors way back that Minnesota might get into the mix for this guy because of the family's relationship with the Alipates. Same with Xavier Su'Filo. They obviously never materialized.

I honestly can't believe Te'o didn't pick USC.

I'm not too concerned. I'm not trying to knock the LDS, but after his two years on his mission, he won't be the same player. See Ben Olson.

I'm not sure if he "has" to, but he said he will do it after his freshman year.

Funny - All the coaches in the Mountain West seem to think this is a big advantage for BYU. I think you can say it works for some and doesn't work for others. Being two years older than your competition can be useful. Having spent two years away from football generally is not.
