per the Houma Today in Louisiana:
For Minnesota quarterback Mitch Leidner, returning to the Manning Passing Academy is always a thrill.
"To be able to come down, all the way from Minnesota, and be able to work with some of these young kids is really cool," Leidner said. "I was the biggest Peyton Manning fan growing up. To be around him and spend time around him, it's a really cool experience."
Leidner's second summer as a counselor at the Manning Passing Academy, which was held last week at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, comes after a breakthrough season for the Lakeville, Minn., native.
The 2015 season saw Leidner throw for 2,701 yards, fourth all time in Minnesota history and first for a junior quarterback. Leidner also finds himself in the record books for passing attenpts (407, third) and pass completions (242).
"The season has a lot of roller coasters, and if you can continue to get better each day you go out to practice and make it through some of those tough times, I think eventually you'll be rewarded," Leidner said. "I struggled a little bit early on, but I was able to eventually start playing some of my best football right when it counted."
