Do you think a team like the gophers can ever achieve large scale success playing primarily man to man defense?

I would argue a team that typically isn't going to out athlete its opponents is much more likely to have success above its talent level playing zone.

Schematically and philosophically...I don't think the gophers play a scheme that will allow them to succeed at the level I would like to see for the program.

The pass defense has been a strength over the past few years. Gophers have finished in the top 5 in Big Ten in pass yards per game the last four seasons.

It seems to me we've played a lot more soft man to man this season compared to in the past. We made it so easy for their QB today.

Playing man to man hurts more against run than the pass
