Anyone remember when VT stole Wedley Estime from us last year? Well Luther Maddy was his teammate who if I recall right was extended an offer from VT but not from Kill. He's now starting for VT as a true frosh.

Are you trying to say that if we had offered he would've come here?

Wow, not bad for a 2* throw in to get Wedley Estime. Speaking of Estime, I didn't see him on the VT roster? Didnt get in?

Edit: nevermind, I see he goes by Dadi Nicholas now. Kind of odd

No, if I was saying that I would have said it. He might have though. Just threw it out as an interesting tidbit.

haha really?? that is pretty odd.

Ah alright, I was confused when I saw this. When you said Kill didn't offer I thought you were saying he should've

I found that interesting as well btown. I can't blame Kill for not offering anyone because he really didn't have the time to fully evaluate players, so I can't give him any blame for missing on offering someone (I'm not saying you are blaming him either).

However, there was some thought on here that Maddy was nothing more than some of the other players who we believe were offered solely to try to get someone else. I've heard people say that about Jacques, Salamon and Pride, and there was some thought that Maddy was similar to them. No disrespect to those players, because people thought the same thing about McKnight.

But it seems like Maddy is the real deal.

I don't know if recruiting like that is smart.

Nope, I don't think it's smart either, unless both of them can play. Scholarships are just way to valuable to give them away for the CHANCE of getting a different player. I was just pointing out that some people thought Maddy was that type of player (just a companion scholarship) but he must not be.

I think the image of Maddy being a companion scholarship is that he had a two-star ranking by both Scout and Rivals and didn't have an impressive offer list (although Western Michigan did offer).
