Anyone gonna be watching this Saturday night. The game of the Year and the Game of the Century i think. 1 vs 2.

Won't miss a minute of it. I just wish it was still the Big Ten getting 1 vs. 2 matchups.

I wouldn't miss it either. Should be a great game, but you never know. Sometimes one team comes out and smokes the other. I'll be pulling for LSU as I've never really liked Bama (which made an Auburn title last year satisfying). LSU sure looked good against Auburn this year, but if I had to bet, I'd put money on Bama. Not sure there are any other teams in any other conferences that could keep up with either of these teams. The sad part is the loser won't have to play in the SEC championship game and may have an easier route to the BCS championship game (if the winner were to lose once as well). Both of these teams would smoke Boise, although I'd much rather see one of them play an undefeated Stanford team. But they need to get by Oregon first...

You know, I'm excited for this game, but I'm kinda hoping that whichever team wins gets blown out (or at least soundly beaten) in the championship game. This seems very similar to the 2006 season where OSU and Mich were 1 vs 2 (by the way, the last game of the B1G season and the best rivalry in the country which makes it much better than this match-up of 2 teams that don't consider each other in their top 3 of rivals). Everyone was high on OSU and Michigan, yet they both lost their respective bowl games (one in a national championship game).

The B1G wasn't particularly strong that year, with a few teams outside OSU/Mich in the top 25, but strong enough to warrant a 1/2 BCS ranking for those 2. I'd say this year in the SEC isn't much different. I haven't seen anything from any team among Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Miss St, Ole Miss, to say they are VERY strong teams, and the only 2 borderline ones are Arkansas and South Carolina, again both I don't see as that strong. The SEC went 5-5 in bowl games last year and I think there is a big room for another team to come in and shock the world and end the "SEC dominance." Hoping Stanford can stay undefeated or hopefully Boise St can sneak in with everyone else at 1 loss and win one for the lil' guys.

Just my thoughts. The game will be good, though.

Whenever I watch these SEC heavyweights go toe-to-toe, I realize how good those teams really are. Whatever the reason, that conference seems to get the best athletes across the board and it's an amazing show.

I heard or read a stat on LSU. They are some crazy number like 34-1 on the road, neutral site, or bowl game at night. And in the majority of those games its a blow out. LSU is the best road team in College Football.

Wouldn't miss it... will have to find a good sports bar in East Lansing!

I'll probably be flipping between that the Minn/NoDak hockey game. For me, it has a little bit of a Yankees/Red Sox feel to it. I don't really care for either team and won't be rooting one way or the other. College football is so much more exciting when you have a dog in the fight, IMO.

I may be there. My daughter is a freshman at Bama and she's trying to find me a ticket.

I was never really a Bama fan but they are now my 2nd favorite team since they are getting my money:).

Been to 2 games in Tuscaloosa this year and it's a pretty amazing atmosphere. They love their college football in the south.

If I go, I'll give a full report next week.

Excellent. Good luck getting a seat!

They are both great teams and I expect it will be a hard-fought contest. In the end, however, I think LSU is just too good and the final margin will be fairly comfortable, something like a 10-14 pt. victory. Other than Oklahoma (who I still can't believe lost to a mediocre Texas Tech team) these two teams are the class of college football and are head and shoulders above everyone else.

I will be at the Gopher vs sue Hockey game. I will DVR it and watch it when I get home. Hope they don't post the score.

I've got some LSU co-workers who are driving to Tuscaloosa tomorrow without tickets. They are planning on scalping outside the stadium, but said they won't spend more than $200 per ticket. If they wait until kickoff, I'm sure they'll get in for no more than a little over face.

I could be wrong, but I think there is a rule that you cannot play in the BCS Title game if you did not win your conference (I think the rule was put in place after the 2004 Sugar Bowl in which Oklahoma was playing for a national title despite losing the Big XII championship game to KSU)

"No more than two teams from any one conference may receive berths in BCS games unless two non-champions from a BCS conference finish as the top two teams in the final BCS standings, in which case they will meet in the National Title Game while their conference champion will play in their conference's BCS bowl game."
From Wikipedia.

To piggyback on zambam's post, here is the website with the BCS' official selection criteria:

http://www.bcsfootball.org/news/story?id=4819597

The official language:

"No more than two teams from a conference may be selected, regardless of whether they are automatic qualifiers or at-large selections, unless two non-champions from the same conference are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS Standings."

My previous channel button on my remote will be getting a workout Saturday night.
It sucks that our game is overlapping with this one.

So Delta, do you cheer for LSU in this one and then hope to beat them last game of the season? I been trying to get my wife to understand that she should want LSU to win. She says she can't cheer for any SEC team other then Arkansas. She says she watches game as an SEC fan.

Absolutely. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

But if LSU loses and we beat them and end up 11-1 then we would probably get back to the Sugar Bowl. (Granted Bama goes to championship game)

But the only thing we need to worry about right now is learning how to not dig ourselves in a hole in the first half.

Lets Geaux Tigerssssssss

TCF at night is an equal atmosphere to both Bama and Death Valley.
