Given their backgrounds, I definitely assume they know what they're doing. However, that doesn't mean things are going to work out in the way they envisioned. In fact, I would bet that certain outstanding candidates they believed would want this job have already turned them down. I would also not be surprised if the two of them are looking at each other right now saying: ".....this may be a little more difficult than we anticipated...." As people said before, if these guys hire Flip, their "value-add" over Maturi is reduced considerably as far as finding a replacement goes. As people have already stated previously, perhaps their "value-add" was much more significant in their decision to let Tubby go. Attracting really "hot" candidates to Minnesota in Basketball and Football is proving to be virtually impossible. I bet Teague and Ellis are beginning to find that out first hand and are somewhat surprised.
