Played on Tubby's Sweet 16 Tulsa team. Retiring from HS coaching to pursue his college coaching dream. A few people on the-mainboard.com (a bunch of good rivals posters got sick of rivals and started this site) said there were some rumors that Dawkins would join Tubby's staff. Supposedly a heck of a recruiter.

SAGINAW - Saginaw High athletic director and basketball coach Lou Dawkins made it official today, announcing he is retiring as basketball coach to pursue another career goal of a college coaching career.
Dawkins, 40, has served as the varsity boys basketball coach for seven years, compiling a 140-28 record, including Class A state championships in 2007 and 2008.

Dawkins, who played at Saginaw High and then collegiately at Tulsa, replaced Marshall Thomas as the varsity head coach in 2004 after coaching the Saginaw High boys junior varsity team. In six seasons as the JV coach, Dawkins was 110-12.
The Trojans were 19-4 this season, which ended last Monday in a regional tournament loss to Bay City Western.

I hope that contract was signed before he quit.

anyone who coached Draymond Green can coach for the gophs. Kid did nothing but lead, compete, and get better every year

How is he a heck of a recruiter at the HS level?
