Seems like a guy that likely practiced and filled a scout team and made others better. They get 85 scholarships a year and less than 50 see the field. There are about 105 total on the team. Fleck tries to fill spots of need and not all will be world beaters.

Yep. Competitive roster on a good team and a top 5 defense. Not everyone is going to walk in and start.

Also - unless I have real problems counting, the Gophers are currently over the 85-player limit. I think - could be wrong - that they "need" another 3 or 4 players to transfer/retire.

so when the Gophs are still adding people through the portal, my spidey sense tells me that Fleck knows something I don't - and there will be more 'departures' before Spring practice begins.

TL;DR Expect to see another 3 additional transfers into the program before next season in addition to the 19 that have already left. I made a similar thread last December to keep track of how many scholarship players the team had total and see what the remaining recruiting picture might be...

I don't know. When I watch the Vikings from time to time, they have 12 players on the field.
