With 2009 Signing Day wrapping up, who do we focus on for 2010? Any names? I know we have been discussing the fantastic four from MN (Edwards, Henderson, Gjere, and Allen), but what about other players out there in MN or the country?

What areas will be needs in 2010 season?

I think some other names are surfacing from Texas, such as WR Mike Davis.

I haven't done this, but if you look at the graduating class next year that will tell you what our focus will be.

Plus i think with Brews recruiting philosophy it's pretty clear what he looks for. 2WR's, 1 QB, large DT's, large OL's, and speed, speed, and some speed.

DLINE DLINE DLINE. Brew is hot on the heels of several stud WRs. Kyle Prater, Mike Davis, DyJuan Lewis, Keith Sconiers, and Matt Milton to name a few.

I understand that looking at the roster will shed some light on this. I am curious what people think are needs are, who might leave, etc? Or if there are any other early names out there?

Personally, I think we will get another top notch QB, as he does, but with Weber, Gray, Aplilate, they will have a hard time getting some PT. In addition, I think we need a WR and need to fill needs on our DL, including DT and DE. We have a strong and young OL coming in and should develop nicely. In addition, I like the look of our DB's.

This will be a fun class to watch develop. It's the first one where Brew has been able to work from day 1. I'm expecting it to be his best by far. If we can keep from sucking this year so the program looks like it has a future and Brew gets extended, it'll be very good.

You probably want to add a QB and a RB every year. And we're going to have some openings on the DL, especially at DT, if somebody (Paging Mr. Allen. Mr Allen, please pick up the Maroon courtesy phone...) were to want to step in and get some PT in the rotation right away.

Is Broderick Smith going to be given an opportunity to prove himself this season? I hope he is instead of getting buried on the depth chart into the future.

I think so. I would think Decker-Hayo-Green to be our starting three, with Broderick and maybe Kuznia subbing in and playing in 5-wide situations. But that's my opinion.

Edit: I forgot about Pittman. Hopefully he gets some action at WR

Next year, needs wise, I agree that DL is top, otherwise the WRs and hopefully a stud LB and more DBs.

QB, RB and the rest are the normal recruiting numbers.

That was great!

He would be a great player to get but we will definitely be facing an uphill battle with him as he has already talked about attending junior days at Texas, LSU, and Nebraska and I know already has an offer from Nebraska.

does gjere play hockey also, if so that is a large man on skates
