Why is there all this talk about people wanting tubby to leave? Who ever thinks this needs some mental help... Is it Tubby's fault that Nolan is out Devo left and Mo Walker is out? Devo left because he is a moron and if he cant be coached by one of the best then goodridens. Tubby has not had one chance to coach a health/mature/ready team since he has been here... the first two year were rebuilding.. then last year was just horrible luck.. now with this year in the middle of the season we lose 2 really key players... what can tubby do about that? NOTHING!!!! He has to just keep coaching and get his players ready for the next game... Who ever thinks Tubby needs to leave needs to have a mental health eval...

gramenz- Very few think he should be gone. I think it's fair game at this point that Tubby should face a little scrutiny. At 2 mil a year I think that's to be expected when he has yet to exceed 9-9 in the Big Ten. Tubby has been given a pretty long honeymoon period here. This year he has suffered some bad luck. But - like all coaches you should only get credit for the players you put on the court and the record they put out. If you lose D Joseph, R White, and others just how is that different than losing Rickert, Humphries, Pryzabilla, Gaines, Hargrow, Schilling and others while seeing guys like Bauer, Bickerstaff and Bennett go down with season ending injuries? It's not. You play with what you have and you get credit for the depth you recruit if your front liners go down. If you make an NCAA tournament run or you win a Big Ten Championship then you get big extensions in your honeymoon period- as Haskins did.

But Tubby hasn't done those things. He's done a nice job here up to this year and we should be thankful. I am. But this year he was unable to get to or motivate Joseph (which is always partly a management failure) and he failed to bring in the guard depth needed. Beyond that he has not been able to adapt a system or use the remaining players in a way that looks good or wins games since Joseph left and Nolen fell to injury. Like every other coach Tubby should get the praise and the criticism for what he puts on the court regardless of the luck involved. That doesn't mean he is not a good coach. He is.
