I have been looking around a bit to see where these guys are transferring to, and so far I haven't found anything connecting either player to another school. It might not mean much but I know some speculated that Lofton might be around next year and, as of now, he's not registered for Spring classes.

Haven't heard anything on lofton. Cal Poly, Montana, Eastern Washington, and San Diego are in the mix for Josh.

I was somewhat surprised to see Lofton walk into Williams Arena for one of the most recent non conference games. I don't recall which game. His attendance at a game doesn't mean he will be returning but it appears he has an interest in watching the team.

I was hearing Texas So.,but when I seen him on the Aggies campus yesterday he sounded unsure.

When's the deadline just googled him and nothing's changed

When can these guys play? Fall 2016 right?

I Was hearing Lofton was going to Texas Southern where Jon Lucas is known for turning around difficult players. Including last years SWAC player of the year, who attended 3 D1 schools lasalle, West Virginia, before landing with TSU....

But haven't heard much on that front lately. As far as I can tell from ig and twitter he looks like a U of M student to me.
Pure speculation.

Martin could opt to go to a JUCO and play right away and play at a D1 school the following year; otherwise, he should be eligible to play after the fall 2015 semester at a D1 school. I'm not sure what options are available to Lofton if he goes through the various NCAA waiver procedures. Deverell Biggs was kicked off the Nebraska team at the end of January 2014 but he has played in every one of Texas Southern's games this year. Seems that Lofton, who was dismissed before the season, should have a reasonable expectation of the same treatment.

Lofton still on campus today, idk if he's trying to work his way back,or just riding out his scholly.

Interesting. You'd think he'd want to start with his new program this winter so he could pick up the system.

I don't see how Pitino could take him back and maintain credibility with his team. He had conditions and he broke them, and also the other guys have been going through the grueling practices and team workouts, etc. all season so why should Lofton just get to skip all that stuff and then come in and play?

I wish it would've worked out here because I think he could've really helped this team next year, but sure seems like that ship is sailed.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe he decided to put school before ball.

But thinking back we never were givin a reason he got the boot. After a lot of praise it kinda came out if the blue.

Public reason given was "not a good fit" ... other info trickled out here and there and anyone paying attention could piece it together. Impression was that the coaches expected him to be a model citizen to prove that he had matured from his past "issues," but he came in here and did things like pouting in the scrimmage when his shot wasn't falling, bad body language toward coaches and teammates, reportedly was out with Wiggins and some other guys where there was underage drinking, and something else I'm forgetting. Basically gave the coaches reason to think that his issues were not behind him, so they cut the cord before it got worse.

The scrimmage thing was horrible.I took everything else as message board opinions and gossip.
Seemed like a hot head decision, that with the proper cool off period, maybe the player who "has more talent than anyone in the program" finish strong, and try to get on the court next year.Even if it means paying his own way, because his ncaa clock has got to be running out.
