Back to a yearly rivalry. Hopefully we can make it more competitive now that it's going to be a divisional rivalry.

It should be more competitive just for the fact Michigan is down and there aren't any signs things are going to change any time soon.

I'm going to avoid anything resembling hubris after the '08 debacle.

This is the single best thing that could have came out of this whole thing. I am so happy.

Anyone who thinks for one second that the current Michigan coach and program will be allowed "five years" to get back to dominance has not been around this sport for more than a decade. At the University of Michigan they, unlike us, have the money to fix whatever problems they face.

I completely agree that game was a debacle. I was just stating that Michigan is down and there are no signs and no guarantees they will be back anytime soon.

Actually, your point about not allowing 5 years makes it more likely that they will spend time struggling. If they fire RR this year and hire someone who runs a different offensive scheme then the spread option, they will likely end up with the same prob we did when Brew went to the spread from a zone read run. The players won't fit the system and the struggles will extend for a few more years.

I'm not promising that, just saying the potential is there.

I think there's potential for Michigan to be down another 2-3 years, assuming RichRod is removed this year. Maybe not 5-7, but I think they could easily be under 8 wins for the next 3 years.
I have a good feeling about the jug coming back before too long.

I cannot understate how excited I am for these divisions. We play our three biggest rivals every year (IA, MICH, WI), restart an old rivalry (UNL), and the other two annual opponents are teams that we always seem to have exciting games against (NU and MSU).

I am so pumped about this, I think this is the best alignment for us that could've happened. FOUR great rivalry games every year! It won't be easy, but it will be fun!
