@ESPNAndyKatz From Wisconsin: Jon Leuer returning to practice Monday. Could play Thur at Minnesota. Leuer is UW's leading scorer. UW was 6-3 without him
 

It would be just the Gophers luck this season.
 

I'd rather beat Wisky with him, than without him.

Having a very similar wrist injury to his I know from experience he won't be ready for a few weeks, if not more.

I don't see any reason why they would bring him back before he's ready. Wisconsin is already a lock for the tourney, and I'm sure Bo doesn't want him to re-aggravate his injury before March.

Thursday is probably speculation and a bit early, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him back by next weekend (the end of February).
 


Its his non shooting wrist, and he has been catching and shooting for the last couple weeks. I would be worried about him trying to rebound and have his wrist hit or bent wrong. I doubt he plays this week and then gets 5-10 minutes the next couple games and then up from there.

Kind of my thoughts. Usually, once that cast comes off it's going to take a bit to restrengthen that wrist and that's really, really, painful to do. I would be surprised though if he's not in game shape quickly. There's no reason why he couldn't condition.
 

It will be about 6 weeks since the injury. Medical people predicted 4-6 weeks.

Bo won't let him play till he is ready. Most concerned if he can fall and support himself without the re-injury.

Blizz.. sorry to hear about your injury... but, not all 'similar' injuries heal the same way.

He has been officially cleared to play and participated in practice for the first time this morning. Last week he was just shooting the ball around... he's back. That doesn't guarantee he'll play Thursday, but I expect to see him on the court. ESPN game, back home in Minnesota.. yep.

Leuer will play Thursday. just announced on the local sports. not sure how much, but he will play.

As I recall he played in both MN-badger games last year.

While Leuer played well how did that series workout for the Badgers?

I wouldn't expect Jon to play 30+ minutes Thursday.
It will likely take some time to get acclimated.
