Gophers athletic director Joel Maturi hasn't raised the men's basketball ticket prices for the seven years he has been on the job. And despite the great interest in Tubby Smith and the revitalized program, Maturi says he won't raise the prices unless he has a change of heart. ...

I second that Nooram. Maturi was more than fair not raising ticket prices during the "gut" of the Monson debacle (or during Tubby's first two seasons), understanding that men's basketball season-ticket holders (along with men's hockey) have been left holding the bag for far too long while football attendance mired in mediocrity.

However, I suspect next year at this time season-ticket prices finally will be raised, and perhaps we'll be talking more about preferred seating & annual giving like we have been with football & the new stadium. Am fine with that but am sorta' bracing myself for the consequences & perhaps some tough decisions. That comes with the territory when you get a quality coach like Tubby.
