For those of us going to the Northwestern game on sunday, the Michigan game and especially the becky game, we really need to make our presence felt. I realize it has been a dissapointing stretch, but we are still in ok position to make the tourney. We do have the fortune of having 3 of our last 4 at home, and we need to take advantage. (like SS said in a previous post 3 wins is a lock, 2 not so much)

Every one that reads these that sits in the student section, we need to come with full energy and pump up our team to create a positive atmosphere from the start. For those who read this and sit in the normal people seats, do whatever you can to get the people around you, to get at least a little more passionate about the game and be a little louder. (I realize this may be asking a lot) But we have to realize this season is far from over, so dont be afraid to be the first one of your section to stand up.

I realize the gophers play has a lot to do with the energy that the crowd gives them, but I think we need to give them an extra boost so they can quickly forget about this last stretch of bad games, regain some confidence and know that we are behind them.

See everyone there early on sunday afternoon.

Great first post - I couldn't agree more.

Our crowd waits for the team to give us something to cheer about - well, the fella's need a supportive and rockin' crowd on Sunday and from here on out. I hope the fans take the atmosphere into our own hands and don't wait for a big dunk or consecutive 3s to get riled up. We have a shot to take a big step forward as a program by making it to The Dance and a home court advantage will go a long way in to making that happen.

Go Gophers!!

Welcome aboard, Uptown!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lotsa fun here by most, and lotsa bellyaching by a few...but oh well. anyway...good first post!!!!

Great sentiment!

My daughter competes in club gymnastics, and I videotape her at all the meets. I want her to do well so badly that sometimes I do a bad job with the camera because I'm distracted from the task and I'm doing body english following her routines. From the standpoint of cinematography, the results are sometimes even comical. I have to often remind myself that each of us - she and I - have a job to do. She does the gymnastics, and I do the videotaping. All I can do is what I can do, which is do a good job with the camera. The analogy is that all we can do as fans is what we can do as fans - go to the Barn and give the team all the support and noise we can muster. Everything else we have no control over. So that's the attitude I try to take to being a Gopher fan - do my job the best I can, don't worry myself into sickness over things I can't control (the team's play), and enjoy the entertainment value of the competition.
