Les Miles questions Kiel's leadership

Rather unprofessional, but I suppose he can get away with it.

Les has enough of a "chest" to rip on Kiel. Blame it on the inferiority complex he developed after getting past the 50 yard line only once against Alabama.

It's shocking how pompous some college football coaches can be. I doubt Les Miles questioned Kiel's heart when he backed out of Indiana, but his backing out on LSU was a sign Kiel didn't have heart. What a tacky thing for a head football coach to say. If I was one of his recruits i'd be annoyed, he's spending time worrying about what he doesn't have rather than the nice class they put together.

This further reaffirms my dislike for the SEC, Les is a baby for ripping on an 17-18 year old kid who he would be lapping the bathwater of at that rally if Kiel had signed with LSU.

Its extremely tacky. Like you said, he had no problem taking him after he decommitted from Indiana. One expects that sort of hypocritical statement from your garden variety rube but for a head coach to say it is inappropriate to say the least.

If the LSU president has his or her priorities in the correct order the head coach will be publicly rebuked.

The LSU president has to be careful and hope that Les Miles doesn't fire him!!!

Awfully tough words from a guy who claps like a girl.

A lot of times they're not great, but I love scrolling through comment boards on articles like this...

"I knew I shouldn't go to LSU when Les shortened all the practice fields to 50 yards."

-Gunner Kiel"

Keil just wanted to go to a university know for producing quarterbacks! Or maybe ND had offered a better package than LSU, i.e jobs for parent's, nice home, sport car etc, oops wrong school that would be USC.

Hope he can take screaming. Kelly has some anger management issues.

Pretty classless...the kid has a right to make the decision best for him...move on.

Couldn't agree more. Irregardless its just Miles trying to say at a booster meeting that he got the best kids that he wanted. Now the entire rest of the country knows that he sounds like a total idiot but apparently certain other people treat every word likes its something holy and true.
All that said, wish Kiel all the best in becoming ND's next system QB who isn't really that good and everyone realizes that the minute he steps into the NFL that the only reason he got there was due to the ND mystique. OK maybe that's a little harsh on the kid so early lol

It is really a no brainer, who wouldn't choose ND over LSU unless your goal is to be a star on " Swamp People".

HA! I first thought Miles was talking about our HC - but in an SEC accent. You know . . . Jerrah Ki-el, head futbah coatch!

Missed this thread from last year. Thanks to Kiel it is resurrected.

Miles is a total chump for ripping on Kiel. For his part, Kiel appears to be one of those kids who has been, for lack of a better word, pampered and convinced by those around him that he's God's gift to the sport of football.

My only other thought was "Jeremy Liggins: 270 pound QB?" Makes Daunte Culpepper look like Twiggy.

Addition: Pulling a Paul Harvey "rest of the story" here. Liggins' grades prevented him from getting into LSU so he decided to enroll at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to get his grades in order and then reportedly would commit to Ole Miss. He left MGCCC before their 2012 fall camp and there are no later internet reports available. I can only conjecture that he is either engaged to Manti Te'o or hanging out with Walker Lee Ashley Jr. as they ponder their next life steps.

almost every d1 fb coach i have met is ummmm not very nice.

Rittenberg: Could Gunner Kiel land in B1G (again)?

Minnesota hopes Philip Nelson is its quarterback of the future, and Nelson very well could turn out to be. The Gophers also signed two quarterbacks, Chris Streveler and Donovahn Jones, in February, but do any of their signal-callers have as much potential as Kiel?

Go Gophers!!

Anyone who suggests that Jerry Kill would stoop this low for a QB will think I am a big spender by offering to buy you a pine float.
