The ACC is on track to have 3 teams tie at 8-0 for the conference. Long way to go but the favorites Clemson, Miami, and SMU don't play each other. It would come down to strength of schedule for the ACC championship game. Clemson and SMU both play #22 Pitt

Wow....didn't realize there were 17 teams in the ACC now. That unbalanced schedule is definitely a major drawback to these monster conferences. Some teams just get lucky and have a much easier route. Or you get a case like what is shaping up in the ACC where the top teams don't face each other in a given year.

I also prefer divisions for a sport like football where at least you can play all the teams you are stacked up against once. Not a perfect solution by any means but at least gives a little bit of balance to things.

Divisions puts it in your hands, on the field.

Even if you're in a bad spot in a stacked division ... Indiana always gets its shot vs Ohio St... bummer if they're the second best team in the conference, but they had their chance on the field with the champ.

Better than being left out for doing nothing wrong.

tOSU plays Nebraska, Michigan, Indiana, Oregon and Penn State. All are currently with winning conference records.

just flipped through the schedules in the ACC and man those are some rough schedules.

Miamis best win will be... Florida? Duke? Syracuse? Everyone on their schedule already has a loss with only Duke and Cuse with 1.

Not any better for Clemson who already got housed by GA. they at least have Pitt on the schedule. SMU lost to BYU already.

Speaking of the B12, BYU does not play any of the remaining undefeateds in conference. Iowa State has TTU and WVU and that's it. Colorado plays TTU and that's it

It's going to be real tough to push for much more than their conference champion to get in from the ACC as well as the B12. Weird now with how much better the SEC and B10 are perceived and how they're going to adjudicate spots with multiple conferences with multiple teams that won't play each other especially when they're picking up bad losses in cross conference play
